Linear Encoders

Positioners include a magnetic or optical encoder. Magnetic encoders offer protection from dust and debris and are used in industrial environments. Optical encoders offer higher accuracy and resolutions where contaminants are not present.

Trilogy's magnetic tape scale encoder is the LME1 or LME5. LME1 has a 1um resolution with 2.5m/s top speed.
LME5 has a 5um resolution with a 7m/s top speed.
LME5 is the lowest cost encoder option Trilogy offers.

Trilogy's optical tape scale encoder is the Renishaw RGH24.
Four resolutions ranging from 5um, 1um, 0.5um and 0.1um are standard.
